Friends! Something awesome is coming to our vibrant city, and we can smell it a mile away.

Literally.

Have you ever walked up to your door at the end of a long work day, your nose filled with the aroma of next door’s mouth-watering Spaghetti Bolognese or fragrant Indian Curry? Have you ever thought to yourself ‘Damn, I wish I could have what they’re having’

Well guys, now you can!

Neighbour Flavour is the brand new app we can’t wait to get our hands on. Created by passionate foodie friends Adrian Brown, Kerry Osborn, Kim Teo and Justin Tor, Neighbour Flavour is connecting food obsessed home cooks with hungry neighbours who love food but don’t have the time or motivation to cook it themselves. Launching Australia-wide in April 2016, this awesome new tool will allow you to get access to your nearest plate of home-cooked pasta or slow cooked beef stew. Our mouths are already watering.

Neighbour Flavour is the next phase in Australia’s booming sharing economy. Amazing apps like Uber and Airbnb have helped pave the way for peer-to-peer food sharing to hit the scene, and with over 3,000 pre-registrations from food-loving Aussies across the country already, we think it’s set to explode!

So How Does Neighbour Flavour Work?

Food-loving cooks can now sell their favourite family recipes (or experimental international dishes *cough*) by uploading an image of their dish to the Neighbour Flavour app.

Buyers can log in, see what’s around them and snap up their favourite foods with the ease of clicking a button.

It’s like the ‘buy now’ button you’ve secretly always wanted to have for those mouth-watering food pics on Instagram.

We think there’s also a huge opportunity here for people to access vegan, gluten-free, or other intolerance-conscious meals that aren’t so easily available in restaurants.

Food Sharing with Benefits

Neighbour Flavour is not only a great way for people to share their amazing food, it’s also helping to reduce food waste in Australian homes.

Now, instead of throwing away that ridiculous estimated figure of around 20% of their purchased food, our typical family households have a tasty and satisfying way to make sure this nourishing food goes into our stomachs and not our landfill.

The awesome guys at Neighbour Flavour have even teamed up with Foodbank Australia. So every time you buy a meal through the Neighbour Flavour app, a serving will also be donated to Foodbank Australia, supporting the millions of hungry Australians in need across the country.

Is It safe?

Rest assured that Neighbour Flavour taking food safety matters seriously. They provide all their home cooks with food safety training and policies, and they’re working proactively with governments to create new regulations that will cater to the demands of modern society and the rise of the food sharing economy.

We literally cannot wait for this app to launch. It’s a chance for us and other foodies to share our passion, to buy and sell real, wholesome, home-cooked meals and nourish our community.

It’s a win win for us AND our environment. Let the food sharing begin!

Here’s your chance to grab a slice of the action. To register as a cook, a hungry neighbour, or both go to neighbourflavour.com. Neighbour Flavour will be launching Australia wide in April 2016.

A 10 Day Testing Phase will begin on Thursday March 10. If you’d like to help by nomming on some of our delicious Wandercooks dishes, and sending feedback about the app, then get in touch with us at [email protected] and we’ll send you more info.
